Field Trip: Santa Fe
Do you know the way to Santa Fe? Sorry, I couldn’t resist. I’m still getting my bearings over here, so I figured hey! Why not take a field trip?
My sister moved to New Mexico a couple of years ago, and this year we finally got around to having family Christmas in Santa Fe. What an amazing town that is — the atmosphere, the art, the food — it was like a dream. Everywhere shops and restaurants were burning pinyon pine in their fireplaces, and while I wondered how sustainable that was, the air outside smelled amazing. It was a desert winter wonderland. Here’s how I saw it…

Wonderful collection of photos here, Andrew! You’ve captured the essence of Santa Fe, for sure. The white barked tree is an aspen, and the tree with dry foliage is probably a locust - perhaps Robinia pseudoacacia ‘Purple Robe’. Locusts are commonly seen in northern New Mexico as they are tough, fast growing, and quite drought tolerant. Glad you enjoyed your visit!
Amazing photos! Thanks for the tour!
Great photos! I was there a few years ago and loved the colors, the contrast between the land and the sky, not to mention the amazing food. Now I’m inspired to return!
Thanks, Robin and MG, and thanks for stopping by!
