RadioGarden #4: Checking Out

by Andrew Keys on March 31, 2011

RadioGarden #4 is live! This month: “Checking Out.” I talk Margaret Roach of A Way to Garden about her new book And I Shall Have Some Peace There, in which she chronicles her experience in stepping out of the high-powered life of an executive and into a life of gardening solitude in rural Upstate New York. But did Margaret really check out of life — or did she check in? You’ll have to listen to find out!

Great interview, Andrew…maybe my favorite so far of the ones you’ve done. Really interesting to hear her journey and coming to terms with her decision. She seems a kindred gardening spirit indeed, I feel sad for gardeners who merely decorate their yard as they would a room in their house - I can’t believe she used those words…I’ve said the same thing in the past…I guess I wasn’t as original as I thought! haha! Keep these coming, I love the insight into other gardeners’ minds…really reminds me how diverse we all are.

@Scott: Thank you so much! I have so much fun doing these podcasts, it’s really gratifying to know other people enjoy them too.
