I’m late posting this to my own blog, but it’s been a bit of a whirlwind. Without further adieu, I present to you RadioGarden, my new podcast for Horticulture Magazine. Here’s the gist of this month’s show:
Human beings never seem to sit still. It’s the year 2010, and as usual, people everywhere are uprooting their whole lives–some by choice, and some not. But how many are moving away from gardens? In the debut of RadioGarden, a podcast of stories at the intersection of people and plants, I’ll talk to Lynn Felici-Gallant, a gardener preparing to leave her garden behind.
Please note this is the first time I’ve ever done anything like this. As in, EVER. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Well if that fun banner/logo is any indication I’m going to love this! Congrats…I can’t wait to give it a listen. So how often will you be ‘casting?
Thanks, Loree! It’s going to be a monthly thing, probably around the first of each month. I hope you like it!
Andrew, I really enjoyed your first episode with Lynn. I can’t even imagine how difficult it must have been for her when she first realized she would be leaving her garden behind. At least Lynn’s had the opportunity to find loving homes for her most prized plants which must make it a bit easier to deal with. Your questions were perfect, letting Lynn tell her story about her garden while also ending on a positive note. Something I think both Lynn, and myself as a listener, needed.
Hey, Andrew, is this available for us iPod users - on iTunes???
Hi Susan! Very good question, and the answer is yes, we’re on it. The iTunes Store takes a bit to approve new podcasts, and the page will require some tweaking after that happens. I’m hoping it’ll be all set by the middle of this month and you’ll be able to subscribe there. I’m planning to post something letting everyone know when that happens.
@Debbie: Thank you SO much for your kind words, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! It’s been such a learning experience for me, and I expect it’ll continue to be, but it’s been so much fun at the same time I can’t even tell you. If you liked this one, that bodes well, because it’s only going to get better from here.
Congratulations on the new podcast! Great subject — I’ve had a new spot for my garden for the last 3 years and it hasn’t been easy… but I never considered it an option not to make it work!
