Today, I’m thinking about warmer climes. Specifically, the Big Easy.
Specifically this one jazz club in the Marigny called the Spotted Cat, where I heard this band play this one song.
Specifically, especially, the clarinet solo at 2:40.

*Outstanding* clarinet solo, great tune! Thanks for sharing.
Well, this one almost brought tears. My son Josh, who now lives on the opposite side of the country from me, is a musician. He was a jazz guitarist in a band for a few years, and the guitar soloist in the tune sounded like him! He would practice upstairs for hours, and whenever I hear that kind of music, I have all these empty nester thoughts.
Thanks so much, guys! Glad you enjoyed it.
I’ve had the Duke Ellington & orchestra rendition of Black & Tan on an album since the early 1980′s -really enjoyed hearing this heartfelt riff.
But going to NOLA might not warm you now, Andrew - another cold night is predicted there - down to 35 degrees F.

OK, Annie, now I’m kind of thinking maybe this e-mail comment notifying plugin isn’t working for us. Let me know if you get this, and thanks again for helping me test it!
Yep, New Orleans is cold right now, but as much as a love Boston, cold New Orleans is warmer in different ways. (Including the sweet olives you’ll catch wind of just walking down the street!)
